Glutathione
Product Overview
Glutathione is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamine, cysteine, and glycine, and is widely recognized for its role in cellular antioxidant defense. It is present in nearly every cell of the body and plays a central role in neutralizing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and maintaining redox balance within tissues.
Preclinical and clinical research suggests that glutathione participates in detoxification pathways, supports mitochondrial function, and contributes to immune signaling regulation. It acts as a key cofactor for enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase and is involved in the recycling of other antioxidants, including vitamins C and E. These mechanisms are believed to underlie its observed role in studies examining oxidative stress balance, inflammatory regulation, and cellular resilience.
Beyond antioxidant activity, glutathione has been investigated for its potential influence on liver function, metabolic efficiency, and overall cellular repair processes. Ongoing research continues to evaluate its impact on redox homeostasis, immune modulation, and systemic health signaling pathways.
